Nasty chemistry
Via Charlie Stross (or one of the commenters on his blog), Things I Won't Work With - in which a chemist gives his opinions on the most dangerous or just plain nasty chemicals around. Fascinating. Incidentally, Charlie's original post was about someone who, under the influence of cocaine, thought it was a good idea to give himself a concentrated hydrofluoric acid enema. Astonishingly, he appears to have lived, but as the summary says, "a hydrofluoric acid enema can cause fulminant acute colitis." Indeed. |

It's actually going to be reviewed in a proper academic journal and everything. Well not actually everything, just a proper academic journal, but I think that's extremely exciting. It says so on the internet, it must be true.
